Speech Pathology
More support means more confidence. Speech Pathology can help you overcome the everyday barriers holding you back.
Rebuild your confidence.
Changes in health can make expressing ourselves, understanding language and even swallowing more challenging. Speech Pathology (you may have heard this referred to as ‘Speech Therapy’), is delivered by a Speech Pathologist and is designed to regain speech clarity and swallowing.
There are a range of conditions that can cause ongoing difficulties – from stroke to Parkinson’s disease, dementia, or other conditions, these barriers can dramatically affect your everyday life and hold you back from connecting with family, friends and the world around you.
Through personalised therapy sessions, our skilled Speech Pathologists work with you to improve speech clarity, language skills, and swallowing difficulties.
We’ll help you regain your voice and rebuild your confidence.
Your goals could include:
- Chat with family on the phone
- Read the newspaper, a book or a written note
- Understand and use money to purchase items and pay bills
- Communicate basic needs, such as hunger or pain
- Maintain safety when swallowing food or drink
- Reduce risk of aspiration or choking
Feel supported every step of the way.
Our Speech Pathologists are skilled and compassionate professionals with experience in aged care and assisting those affected by a stroke, Parkinson’s disease, other neurological conditions and dementia. Through your initial consultation, our team will assess and determine a care plan that suits your condition and goals.
Throughout your consultation, and into your care journey, ECH Speech Pathologists will create a safe space for you to express your needs and concerns. You won’t be facing this journey alone; we’ll ensure you feel supported every step of the way.
